TRASH AND RECYCLING DELAYED

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 29, 2019

THE CITY OF KENT TRASH AND RECYCLING PROVIDERS WILL BE SHUT DOWN ON WEDNESDAY DUE TO THE EXTREME COLD AND WINDCHILL TEMPERATURES FORECASTED FOR THE AREA.

AS A RESULT TRASH AND RECYCLING COLLECTION WILL BE PUSHED BACK ONE DAY THROUGH FEBRUARY 2ND.

WEDNESDAY ROUTES WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR THURSDAY, THURSDAY ROUTES SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY AND FRIDAY ROUTES SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY.

IF ADDITIONAL CHANGES ARE MADE TO THE COLLECTION SCHEDULE YOU WILL RECEIVE UPDATED NOTICES FROM THE CITY OF KENT.

RESIDENTS ARE ALSO REMINDED TO TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT WATER PIPES FROM FREEZING, KEEP HEAT ON, ALLOW FAUCETS TO DRIP AND KEEP INTERIOR CABINET DOORS TO PLUMBING OPEN.

EXTREME WINDCHILL TEMPERATURES ARE DANGEROUS. PLEASE REMEMBER TO TAKE EXTRA SAFETY PRECAUTIONS, LIMIT TIME OUTDOORS, WEAR EXTRA LAYERS OF CLOTHING, CHECK ON YOUR ELDERLY FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS AND KEEP PETS INDOORS.
